This three day workshop is designed to provide faculty members with an increased knowledge of the National Physical Therapy Examination program, which may benefit their program and students. It is being held in conjunction with the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy Annual Meeting.

PLEASE NOTE: This workshop runs for three full days, from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Friday and Saturday and 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Sunday.
Day One: Receive expert psychometric training on writing multiple-choice test questions that more accurately test your students' understanding of the material.
- Learn to use item statistics to analyze items that you use on your exams
- Understand the characteristics of "good" multiple-choice test questions
- Review the barriers to writing good test questions
- Practice writing test questions and receive feedback on your practice questions
Day Two: Review NPTE test development.
- Review the analysis of PT and PTA practice and how it is used to update the NPTE
- Review the steps used to construct the NPTE
- Review the process used to set the passing standard for the NPTE
- Review the psychometric principles used to develop "high stakes" exams
Day Three: Share strategies for improving program pass rates
- Learn to use school reports to analyze your program
- Discuss the issue of cheating
- Review what students need to know about applying for and taking the NPTE
- Discuss your questions, concerns and issues regarding the NPTE
- Attend the annual FSBPT Awards Luncheon
