Practice Review Tool (PRT) Goes Live!

Home-> News & Events -> PRT Goes Live

What is the PRT?
The Practice Review Tool (PRT) is a new initiative created by FSBPT to allow PTs to compare their knowledge, skills and abilities to current entry-level practice. It is also an opportunity to review PT fundamentals.

  • The PRT uses scenarios and multiple-choice questions that emphasize clinical application of content knowledge. Realistic case scenarios that describe clinical situations are presented and the PT answers a series of related questions. Scenarios include the age, gender and presenting problem/current condition of a patient and may also include past medical history, physical therapy examination results, physical therapy interventions and other information.
  • Visit the FSBPT website at www.fsbpt.org for more detailed information on the PRT. From the Shortcuts menu on the right, select, “Learn about PRT and Continuing Competence.”

Physical Therapists:
Are you curious to see how your knowledge, skills and abilities compare to current practice? Try the PRT – Available now!

  • To pay for and schedule a date to take PRT go to www.prometric.com/fsbpt. The fee for the PRT is $250. There are 125 questions and you’ll have two hours and 30 minutes to complete the PRT.
  • Licensees will receive their performance results immediately after completing the PRT while at the Prometric Center. Both a completion certificate and a feedback report will be provided by the Prometric Center.
  • Results from the PRT will only be released to the licensee. State licensing boards will NOT receive notification of which licensees have utilized the tool nor their results.
  • If you want to earn CE/CC credit, you will need to verify that the PRT meets your state’s requirements for CE/CC.

Physical Therapy Licensing Boards:
Do you want to encourage your licensees to assess their current competence in the general practice of physical therapy?

Contact the FSBPT at PracticeReview@fsbpt.org to discuss approving the PRT for continuing education and continuing competence credits in your jurisdiction.

How can I be involved in the development of the next PRT?
We are looking for volunteers to assist in writing scenarios and items for the Orthopedics PRT.

If you’re interested in being involved in this exciting process, contact PracticeReview@fsbpt.org.
