On Friday, April 10, 2020, Prometric made the decision to keep all of their North American test sites closed through April 30, 2020, due to safety measures imposed in response to the pandemic. Prometric plans to reopen as many test centers as possible on May 1, 2020. Site capacity at these centers will be reduced in order to adhere to social distancing guidelines.

NPTE Exams – April 7 PTA and April 28 PT

All candidates currently eligible to take the April 7 PTA exam or the April 28 PT exam will receive an updated Authorization to Test (ATT) letter with a testing window of May 1 – May 31, 2020. Only those candidates currently approved for the April 7 or April 28 exams will receive this testing window.

New ATT letters will be issued this week. Prometric is in the process of cancelling the original appointments and refunding the sitting fees. As soon as you get your updated ATT letter, schedule your new appointment. We know that some candidates will be unable to test in the May window due to COVID-19 hotspots. Please reach out to examregistration@fsbpt.org to let us know if you are unable to schedule your appointment in the May window.

FSBPT has allowed testing windows in response to other large-scale testing disruptions, such as natural disasters. However, please note, this does not represent a change in our testing policy or fixed-date format—the testing window is a necessary exception due to extraordinary circumstances.

Law Exams NPTE Exams – April 7 PTA and April 28 PT

The current window to take an FSBPT administered law exam is sixty days. We will temporarily expand this window to ninety days to allow for more flexibility in scheduling. All pending law exam candidates will receive an updated ATT letter with an eligibility start date of May 1, 2020. In addition, all newly approved law exam candidates will receive the ninety-day window until further notice is given.
