In this News Brief:

Jeffrey Vinzant

Jeffrey Vinzant, Executive Director of the Alabama Board of Physical Therapy, passed away suddenly on July 28, 2020. Jeffrey was very involved in FSBPT, serving on multiple committees and task forces. Jeffrey said in a recent candidate statement for the FSBPT Board of Directors, “My philosophy is that an organization can only be effective when it is forward thinking, looking to the future and is client centered in all its decisions. Using this as a foundation, in both my professional and personal life; I have had a career of assisting others as they seek to better themselves.” He embodied this vision with decades of experience working in the public sector environment both on the Alabama Board of Physical Therapy and as the director of the Campus Store for Auburn University at Montgomery. His contributions to the PT regulatory community were notable and his impact on FSBPT will be lasting.

Jeffrey’s obituary and a guestbook are available on the Southern Memorial website

2020 Annual Meeting Webinar Series

As we've previously announced, FSBPT has cancelled all in-person meetings in 2020.

Instead, FSBPT will provide some educational content that would normally occur during the Annual Meeting via a series of webinars throughout the year. While cancelling the in-person meeting was not an easy decision, we are as excited about the quality of our webinar series as we have been about our in-person meetings. We have lined up outstanding speakers for you! Please take a look at the lineup, mark your calendars, and look out for more details.

Spotlight on Member Resources: Regulatory Resources

FSBPT identifies and promotes effective regulation in physical therapy to help ensure the delivery of safe and competent physical therapy care, while respecting states’ rights and responsibilities. We have included some of the tools that we have developed for state licensing authorities in the regulation of physical therapy on our website.
