Mark your calendars! FSBPT administers the NPTE for physical therapists (PTs) and physical therapist assistants (PTAs) four times a year. Our plan is to maintain a similar schedule for future years so that educators and their students can plan for those test dates.
Please note that the July PT examination will be given on 2 consecutive days. Candidates registering for this exam will automatically be assigned to a test date during registration.
Candidates who are unable to test on the date they were scheduled due to a problem with the Prometric testing center (power outage, computer malfunction, etc.) should call FSBPT to be rescheduled as soon as possible.
Make sure you register and pay for the exam before the registration deadline passes. Until registration and payment are received by FSBPT, your jurisdiction is not able to approve your registration.
*To view and download the free candidate score report, go to Check the Status of My Request on the date listed in the table above. The free score report will remain viewable for 30 days. After 30 days reports may be purchased at the standard fee for an Individual Score Report.
Exam candidates must follow the step-by-step registration process below:
Taking the NPTE may be just one of the requirements for licensure. Some states require that you take a jurisprudence exam before you take the NPTE.
Obtain, review and complete application materials from the licensing authority of the jurisdiction in which you seek licensure.
Register and pay for the NPTE using FSBPT's Exam Services website. You may also use this online processing system to register and pay for jurisprudence exams for the following states: Alabama, Arizona, California, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Nebraska or Ohio.
If you have a disability covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), you may request special testing accommodations at the time you register.
The jurisdiction licensing authority will approve your eligibility and notify FSBPT. We will send you an Authorization to Test (ATT) letter containing instructions on how to schedule an appointment with Prometric.
Email us or call FSBPT at (703) 739-9420.
Once you've completed the registration process and been approved by your jurisdiction, you are ready to schedule your appointment. The process is quick and easy with Prometric, a computer-based testing service.
