Arrange to take the NPTE

Exam candidates must follow the step-by-step registration process below:

  1. Find out what your jurisdiction requires

Taking the NPTE may be just one of the requirements for licensure. Some states require that you take a jurisprudence exam before you take the NPTE.

  2. Complete a State Application Form

Obtain, review and complete application materials from the licensing authority of the jurisdiction in which you seek licensure.

  3. Register and pay for exam

Register and pay for the NPTE using FSBPT's Exam Services website. You may also use this online processing system to register and pay for jurisprudence exams for the following states: Alabama, Arizona, California, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Nebraska, New Jersey or Ohio.

  4. Request special testing accommodations

If you have a disability covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), you may request special testing accommodations at the time you register.

  5. Obtain jurisdiction approval

The jurisdiction licensing authority will approve your eligibility and notify FSBPT. We will send you an Authorization to Test (ATT) letter (view sample) containing instructions on how to schedule an appointment with Prometric.
