NPTE Frequently Asked Questions

What is the step-by-step process for registering for the NPTE?

Access your Journey Map at https://pt.fsbpt.net/UserJourneyMap. Enter your school and the state where you want to practice. The system will create a map outlining the steps in the NPTE registration process, as well as who is responsible for each step.

How can I best prepare to take the NPTE?

Visit the Prepare for Exam page to find tools and tips to help you get ready for the NPTE.

What is the status of my NPTE registration?

You can check the status of your registration by logging into your Customer Dashboard. You will see the “NPTE Registration Status” section showing where you are in the registration process. Click on “Registration Details” to see an overview of what has been completed and what is still outstanding.

What should I do if my status says “Awaiting Eligibility?”

This status means that FSBPT is waiting for the state where you applied for your license to approve you to sit for the exam. If you have submitted all of your information to the state required with your licensure application, you do not need to take any further action. The day after the state approves you, you will receive your Authorization to Test (ATT) letter via email from FSBPT. If you are not sure if you have submitted all of your required information to your state, you may contact them to see if there is anything they need in order to approve you to sit for the exam: Licensing Authorities Contact Information | FSBPT.

When will I receive my ATT letter?

FSBPT will email you the Authorization to Test (ATT) letter the day after you are made eligible to sit for the examination. At the same time your ATT letter is emailed, you will be able to access it from your Customer Dashboard under “Status of My Request” in the “Services” section.
