PT Compact Education Module

Do your students have questions about the PT Compact that you feel ill-equipped to answer? How confident are you in teaching about the PT Compact, a major policy initiative that will impact careers? If you have been avoiding adding the PT Compact to your curriculum due to a lack of knowledge, there is a new, free resource! The PT Compact Education Module has been developed by educators for educators. The module includes objectives, PowerPoints, video presentations, case studies, frequently asked questions, and learning activities.

Learn how you can access the Education Module and watch the following videos to learn more about how the PT Education Module was created and how to use the module:

This Quarter's Question: Can Graduation Validation be Removed if a Student’s Status Changes?

Graduation validation can be removed for a student if their status changes, for example, if their anticipated graduation date is significantly delayed. To update the student's status, contact FSBPT at schools@fsbpt.org. Please note that if the student is already registered or scheduled for an upcoming exam, they will need to cancel their testing appointment with Prometric and withdraw their exam registration with FSBPT prior to validation being removed.

You can revalidate the student’s graduation through the system at the appropriate time.

Free Tool for Candidates to Improve Their Exam Prep

We are excited to share that free access to the FifthTheory Test Mastery Inclusion program is available to all NPTE candidates, including any students currently in your program.

FifthTheory is an independent firm with expertise in helping test-takers become aware of and develop the test mastery mindset. This program allows students to identify their strengths and weaknesses regarding their test-taking skills, which can significantly improve preparation strategies and reduce exam-related anxieties. During the evaluation period last year, 64% of candidates who accessed the program reported that it helped them prepare for the NPTE.

We encourage all students to take advantage of this free program and enhance their test-taking skills. Please share this resource with students today!

What Students Need to Know: New PT Compact Site Launched!

The PT Compact has launched its new website! The site has an improved PT Compact Map, an Eligibility Checker, and clearer information to help compact privilege customers navigate the process to quickly and easily purchase and renew compact privileges.

The PT Compact also continues to grow. In 2025, Vermont (March 1), Alaska (May 1), and Pennsylvania (July 7) became the 33rd, 34th, and 35th active compact states. As a result, licensees living in those three states can now purchase compact privileges in any of the other active compact states. The PT Compact is also the first occupational licensure compact to become active in Alaska!

On July 1, the PT Compact bill was enacted in Nevada, making Nevada the 40th member of the PT Compact. We are hopeful that Nevada will become the 36th active compact member state later this year.

Get Involved: Learn, Grow, Write–Be an NPTE Item Writer!

Item writing for the NPTE is a great way to gain expertise in crafting multiple-choice questions, share your knowledge of the profession, work with and learn from colleagues, and have fun!

Basic and Regional workshops for 2026 will be announced later this year! If you or someone you know would like to participate in an Item Writing Workshop, learn more and apply or send an inquiry to volunteer@fsbpt.org.
